Senior Landscape Architect

Job description / Role

The position is to fulfill a senior role on site managing the Contractor and his works for a large Public Realm development comprising Streetscapes, Parks and their interface. All Public Realm elements of signage, furniture, irrigation, play equipment, associated utilities and lighting are included in the Contract Works.

Hard and Soft Landscape, Plants supply and procurement and Maintenance are also a major proportion of the Works.

The position calls for over 15 years’ experience on similar projects with a support team of 5 Works Inspectors and an associate Landscape Architect to manage in their roles and services to the client and the 2 Contractors.

Administration of the Contract Works, design of amended works, and the co-ordination of all disciplines for associated works under construction for complete design and quality integration of the Public Realm elements is foreseen as the major tasks.

A Bill of Quantities and all/any amendments to the Works and Contract Sum will be measured and costed by a Quantity Surveyor in co-ordination with the landscape Architect. Value Engineering throughout the Contract for any/all Works and amended works will be a focus.

The Senior Landscape Architect will be coordinating with the Resident Engineer and his team primarily, as well as the client’s Project Manager and representatives on site for the delivery of the project on time and within budget.

Requirements

Knowledge of Construction, Contract Conditions, Works programming, Cost analysis and management, design and integration with the associated disciplines is essential in the role.
