Senior Legal Counsel - Corporate Transactions - Retail Group

Job description / Role

In this role, you will act as lead negotiator for transactional and contractual mandates, while overseeing junior output and acting as a senior advisor on expert subject matter.

An established and successful retail organisation with a large and continuously developing portfolio of recognised brands across the UAE.

Description

* Oversee corporate transactions and commercial contracts
* Develop and implement long-term legal strategies aligned with organisational goals.
* Ensure compliance with laws and industry standards in all transactions.
* Manage relationships with external legal experts for specialised advice.
* Collaborate with CLO and team to address senior-level legal concerns.
* Lead negotiations for commercial contracts and M&A deals with third parties, manage contracts, and analyse legal claims.
* Support new business ventures and offer informed legal advice in meetings.
* Draft governance documents and understand key financial aspects for legal guidance.
* Guide and motivate the legal team for enhanced performance and continual learning.
* Oversee transactions, project management, and team development.

Requirements

* 8-10 years PQE
* Strong academic record, with a LLB or an appropriate conversion course
* Previous experience with M&A transactions and JV negotiations
* Historic experience in a top tier law firm or complex in-house organisation
