Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Forecast expenditure for the whole year with the assistance of the Budget holders and planners.
- Support the businesses with all Financial information and analysis.
- Timely month end close for the areas responsible.
- Variance Analysis and presentations to Budget holder and Chief Financial Director (CFD).
- Coordinate the budget exercise for the areas responsible and arranging internal activities to ensure the completion of the annual budget exercise and submission of the numbers to the Finance Manager.
- Coordinate Authorisation for Expenditure (AFE) process and ensure that the costs estimates and write up is adequate, if the budget exist in whole or part for the project and gets the required approvals in place before submitting the same to the Chief Financial Director.
- Ensure internal control exists and are effective. Process and procedure which have financial impact should also be reviewed for weaknesses and addressed to the Finance Manager.
- Act as a Business Accountant for the area responsible for by understanding the business and supporting the business/departments with regard to all financial matters.
- To arrange for the inventory to be reviewed (if applicable to the area) and ensure that inventory is not increasing without a valid reason.
- Prepare ad hoc analysis and information for the Budget holders, the Finance Manager and Chief Financial Director.

Requirements

- Professional Qualification i.e. ACCA, ACA, CA, CPA, CMA or MBA Finance or working towards a similar qualification
- Audit background
- 7+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Oil and gas experience preferred
- Ability to ‘stray’ and understand the technical side of things (on a high level at least) to better assist the Business Manager
- Good analytical skills
- Self-directed and highly motivated
- Ability to work well with people of different technical skills and culture
- Ability to convey finance information to Non Finance background staff and managers
- Good Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a diverse team with more than one manager
- Ability to prioritise amongst various demands and work well under pressure
- Reacts and adapts to changes and new developments in a positive manner
