We currently have an opportunity for a finacial professional with our Finance Department, based out of Abu Dhabi; the role of Senior Manager Accounting would be contributing to the development of the Group’s Finance strategy, work towards implementation of relevant financial accounting and Consolidation policies, processes and procedures designed to add value and improve operations at Group and OpCo levels and support in overseeing the Group’s general accounting activities and ensuring timely and accurate preparation of the Group’s financial statements .

Specific Accountabilities:
• Provide relevant inputs to the development of financial accounting and Consolidation processes, procedures and timelines in order to achieve Group Finance strategic and operational objectives.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Group Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger Accounts teams
• Manage accounting and financial reports of SPVs.
• Manage and prepare the Group’s stand-alone financials and general ledger.
• Manage the Group’s project costing and fixed assets accounting to ensure within planned budgets as per approvals.
• Liaise with Group HR on management of the payroll system.
• Ensure accounts payable and receivable are within accepted norms; highlight significant variations for the attention of the Group Vice President – Financial Accounting & Consolidation.
• Ensure, review and ultimately be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of the Group’s financial statements.
• Contribute to the maintenance of Group relations with banks and financial institutions to acquire competitive financing and ensure accurate credit rating.

Generic Accountabilities
• Contribute to the development of the Finance strategy for the Group and oversee its implementation in area of responsibility across the Group.
• Review the analyses of relevant Finance processes, and recommend optimization to enhance functional performance and efficiency.
• Monitor, track and follow up on the performance and competence of the Financial Accounting team.
• Develop and recommend the financial and manpower budget for the Financial Accounting Section; control section budget within approved parameters.

Requirements

Formal Education
Ideally you would be a graduate in Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Economics, Finance, Accounting or related discipline, applicants with professional accounting qualification/ certification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA, etc) would be given an added advantage.

Academics would be complemented by 5-6 years of experience, involving similar financial accounting and Consolidation responsibilities in a reputable banking/ financial services firm, telecoms company or other multinational organization, including most recent 4 years in a managerial role.
