Senior Manager - Group Risk and Insurance

Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Group Risk
- To manage and be accountable for a comprehensive and effective enterprise wide integrated risk management framework which ensures that all risks (including financial, market, operational, strategic and EH+S) are identified and effectively managed within the defined risk appetite and governance framework.

Group Insurance
- To manage and be accountable for the inception, placement and ongoing management of EGA’s Insurance programes to ensure an optimal balance between risk transfer, coverage and cost. This includes establishing processes and strategies for the management of claims, potential loss notifications to Insurers as well as the co-ordination between insurance brokers/consultants, insurers, external loss adjusters and risk engineers.

Requirements

- 8 - 10 years of experience in risk management including at least 4 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities
- Experience of interacting with national/international financial institutions and insurance counterparts and service providers.
- Experience of managing relationships with local and international insurance agents and service providers.
- Expert knowledge of Risk & Insurance management principles, regulatory requirements and knowledge of high yielding / low risk investment products.
- Knowledge of statutory and internal financial / risk management standards.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Entrepreneurial awareness.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or equivalent.
- Financial Risk Manager [FRM], Chartered Insurance Institute [CII] or Treasury [AMCT, MCT] qualifications are preferred although Accounting, Engineering or Business qualifications would be considered.
