Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Purpose:

Strategize and lead the commercial functions of the Cargo department, to expand the cargo distribution across the network and exceed set revenue targets. To lead, guide, manage, and monitor the cargo team’s performance ensuring maximum utilization of flights and maximum yield optimization; serves as a bridge way between Air Arabia cargo and GHAs to ensure better level of service is provided; manages the GCSA/CSA performance to ensure maximum fulfillment in line with agreements, set measures and company’s adopted practices

Key Accountabilities:

• Achieves and exceeds the budgeted yearly revenue target set for Air Arabia Cargo and grows the market share.
• Capitalizes on opportunities by maximizing cargo sales and profitability and enhancing customers’ experience.
• Creates and implements policies, procedures, strategic road map and business plans for development and growth of Air Arabia Cargo and spearhead appointing cargo GSA/CSA partners in the interest of Air Arabia Cargo.
• Drives cargo sales by assigning/monitoring targets achievement based on approved segmentations of the different commodities whilst ensuring right priority is given to cargo shipments.
• Manages the cargo systems from bookings and operating sides; ensures all EDI messages are triggered and Cargo System is updated and fully compiled on operations front whilst no un-booked shipments routed via SHJ and RAK are missed.
• Monitors the performance of GSAs’ cargo sales and operations against the contracts, SLAs, and agreed criteria and prescribed handling service indicators.
• Identifies gaps in performance, implements effective solutions to maintain and deliver full conformity and premium levels in handling services across the entire network.
• Identifies and implements ‘quick fix’ solutions where appropriate for urgent problems that may arise from Cargo service to public ensuring the company’s branding and corporate image are positively addressed and maintained.
• Establishes/capitalizes on business relationships with airports, airlines, interline carriers, GHAs, GSAs and CSAs in order to achieve best results in terms of sales and services.
• Manages the contracts and service level agreements with GHAs, GSAs, CSAs, and other parties, whilst providing technical input and support to execute contracts properly, in alignment with airport, IATA, GHA, and country’s regulations related to customs/export/import.
• Increases cargo distribution and appointment of cargo agents in G9 Network and works towards developing the business for the hubs of E5 & 9P.
• Partners with other departments such as Finance and Legal to manage all corresponding terms related to cargo services such as insurance, corporate credit facilities, invoices and payment etc.

Requirements

Qualification & Experience Requirement:

• Master Degree or Bachelor degree in Commerce/Sales/Marketing/Management or equivalent.
• Sales and Marketing certificates and training courses are considered an added value.
• Project Management Certificate is an advantage.
• Fluent in English Language (Arabic is a plus).
• 10+ years (Mandatory) of working experience in cargo and trucking services in general, 5 years of which in Air Cargo in a managerial role leading a team.
• Should have a working experience with an Airline or GHA, experience in low cost airline is a plus.
• Very good analytical and communication skills (verbal and written).
• In-depth knowledge in cargo operations as well as load planning procedures.
• Proven records in increasing sales and building effective relationships with external parties and service providers to enhance business opportunities and increase revenue.
• Capable of developing reports, comparison sheets, and charts as well as utilizing statistics to identify trends and support the sales team with recommendations
