Senior Field Technical Service Specialist

DIVISION: Cardiac Rhythm Heart Failure
DEPARTMENT: AF Solutions

The Field Technical Service Specialist's primary role is to provide customer service for AF Solutions' multi-product ablation business. AF Solutions is a rapidly growing business with a strong global presence, aiming to expand the service offering to new markets. The right candidate will possess a mix of technical, leadership, and communication skills in the delivery of service and support to AF Solutions' customers. The candidate must be driven to succeed and willing to invest the time necessary to assist in the development of a world class service organization where customer service is a competitive advantage to the AF Solutions business.

This position will involve significant time in the field installing, troubleshooting and servicing the AF Solutions capital equipment and will require a strong technical background in the area of mechanical or biomedical engineering. This individual will be responsible for partnering with local sales and field service engineers to provide best in class customer service. This individual will be an expert on the capital equipment and act as a point of escalation for field service engineers in other countries.

As part of the Global Technical Service Organization, this candidate will be responsible for responding to customer and field personnel technical inquiries accurately and efficiently.

* Responsible for service of AF Solutions capital equipment including the technical assessment, installation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance and de-installation.
* Maintain and submit technical records and documentation as per regulatory requirements.
* Provides process, information, documentation, tools, equipment, and materials in support of field service, in order to accomplish activities effectively and efficiently.
* Provides support and troubleshooting by phone and email, as needed, during regular business hours as well as some support outside business hours in partnership with peers from the Global Technical Service organization.
* Collaborate with other Field Service Engineers via phone, email and in person, evaluating their ability to service capital equipment and providing additional training when necessary.
* Participates in the development and delivery of technical training for distributors, partners, agents and technically qualified representatives of the customer base.
* Manages relationships with third party service distributors.
* Builds relationships with the global field organization in an effort to increase customer satisfaction.
* Works closely with AF Solutions customers, particularly hospital biomed and lab managers, to ensure capital equipment is properly maintained and meets local regulatory requirements for installation and servicing.
* Ensures replacement part inventory is readily available for use with troubleshooting or repair of capital equipment.

Requirements

* Bachelors Degree of Engineering ( Mechanical, Electrical, or Bio-Medical)
* Minimum of three years of Degree-related industry experience
* Ability to apply engineering principles such as electrical, mechanical, thermodynamic and biomedical to troubleshooting without complete technical documentation
* Ability to troubleshoot problems and technically diagnose medical equipment
* Experience using tools such as Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and/or Adobe Acrobat, and Internet search engines
* Strong English written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work remotely, with limited supervision
* Flexibility to travel frequently, 60% of the time, including significant international travel
* Passport or Visa allowing for worldwide travel
* Ability to spend 3 months in the US for onboarding

Desired:
* Advanced degree
* (Dubai Posting) Bilingual in Arabic, French or Russian
* Experience in teaching technical subject matter
* Personal productivity and self-discipline to accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously, while meeting critical project timelines.
* Knowledge of Medical device use and/or design
* Experience with electro-mechanical equipment
* Experience in project management in a service or engineering role

* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in relation to travel and operating a personal computer.
* Must be insurable and maintain a valid driver's license.
* Ability to travel extensively with ease (approx. 60% of time)
* Environmental exposure to infectious disease and radiation.
* Required to be within their assigned territory each day to be available as unscheduled needs arise.
