Senior Mechanical Engineer - Construction

Job description / Role

Palace Group has an opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to establish himself within the company and be involved in luxury turn key projects. Offering the potential for future personal growth and leadership opportunities. The candidate must be a self-driven and organized individual with the ability to perform the following:

Responsibilities:

Engineering
• Review submissions and approval of technical data and shop drawings for associated MEP materials.
• Preparing BOQ’s and estimating the total cost of projects.
• Preparing quotations and variations for Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Alarm & Fire Fighting systems.
• Preparing MEP related shop drawings and material submittals as per project requirement and submit for approval.
• Preparation for material requisition as per project specification and forwarding to the purchase department.

Coordination
• Attending meetings with clients and consultants.
• Coordination with the electric engineers/electrical department.
• Meet with head office management to discuss project prospects.
• Receive and follow instructions from head office.
• Notify the head office of any delay caused by any party, in order for the head office to prepare official variations.
• Responsible for conducting site meetings with all concerned authorities.
• Responsible for estimate approval from authorities and getting approval of temporary and permanent supply of water and electricity for the project.
• Coordinating with concerned authorities for NOC from DEWA, Civil Defense and all other concerned authorities as per project requirement.
• Planning, scheduling and allocation of human and material resources.
• Ensure the correct execution methods are practiced.
• Coordinate with the subcontractors; make sure all NOC/clearances are provided.
• Make sure each subcontractor knows their scope of work.
• Assure proper coordination with the consultant/concerned authorities

Execution
• Read/understand/analyze the execution schedule provided by the head office.
• Knowledge of developing MEP Site execution MEP coordination drawings.
• Avoid any type of material wastage or damage.
• Execution of Plumbing and Fire Fighting & Fire Alarm systems whilst working closely with the Electrical department.
• Testing and commissioning of Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Fighting & Fire Alarm Systems.

Requirements

Reporting
• Review and check daily/weekly site report and compare it with method of statement.
• Preparation and submission of progress invoices.
• Reporting to site progress report to the concern authorities with close coordination and as per instruction of project director.
• Prepare monthly report and submit it to the head office.

Experience
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in similar role
• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
