Key concepts include: Moving to digital products, adopting agile across the organisation, leveraging cloud, and focus on supporting bid and delivery.

Be responsible for the delivery, on-going success and continuous improvement of digital products or services that are related to Design & Authoring. Lead a team of Product Managers aligned to Design & Authoring. Bridge the gap between Atkins’ business and our clients, and the development and technical worlds. Deliver multiple new products, or existing product enhancements from conception to launch.

Key Deliverables/Responsibilities
- To manage the innovation, incubation and iteration of digital products for Design & Authoring which includes 2D and 3D CAD tools, content libraries, design re-use, engineering analysis, design automation and other related topics.
- Provide leadership to the Digital Engineering Systems team and specifically a team of Product Managers and Product Specialists that will focus on Design & Authoring products.
- Interface with other areas of the new Group IS team to support the forming and effective running of the new IS operating model.
- Understand user needs and priorities, working closely with a network of Product Owners to gather product requirements and validate ideas through incubation. You will need to get user buy-in for product definition and your delivery approach.
- This is a hands-on role and alongside the Product Managers in your team you will lead one or more multi-disciplinary agile delivery teams to deliver excellent new products and/or iterations to existing products.
- Create effective, prioritised product descriptions and backlogs to meet user needs in a cost effective way, keeping continually up to date with changes to user preferences and behaviours across the relevant digital platforms.
- Support the delivery of your digital products and services through effective analysis of qualitative and quantitative user data. You will be actively involved across partner and user communities to promote the principles of Atkins Digital Services’ principles and foster our collaborative approach to solution delivery and engagement.

Requirements

- Well-rounded individual who will create a highly effective team delivering digital services to our customers.
- Have a bias toward action and can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development at speed.
- Will be able to demonstrate how to put the customer first and validate product ideas.
- Be able to demonstrate breadth and depth knowledge in products and services associated with Design & Authoring including a deep understanding of the use third party products, for example Autodesk’s AutoCAD, Revit & Civil3D, Bentley’s Microstation & AECOsim, Tekla’s Structures application or Aveva’s PDMS.
- Have a good understanding of the design process as it relates to the use of tools and working procedures in the production of the 3D model and the generation of outputs, for example 2D drawings or bills of quantity.
- Be able to demonstrate an experience of the Product Management role of maintaining a product backlog and driving agile (SCRUM) delivery.
- Proactively recommend improvements and new products to meet the demands of the business and bring cost and process efficiencies
- An entrepreneurial drive with appreciation of user-experience, business and commercial issues is a must.

Desirable
- A hands-on software development experience would be a significant benefit.
- An experience of EDMS systems related to the design collaboration process particularly for globally distributed working.
