Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Objectives: Reporting to the Senior Project Controls Manager, the Senior Project Controller provides overall support for GAC and its Contractors for the Project Controls function, both in the Abu Dhabi office and the on- site team in Guinea.

Core focus areas include; Cost Estimating, Cost Control, Planning & Scheduling, Change Management, Cost and Schedule Risk, Project Reporting and Project Accounting and ensuring they are in accordance with company standards and contractual requirements

Main responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development, maintenance, monitoring and reporting of the Overall Project Schedule
- Ensure interfaces are in place between the EPC, Contractor and Owner’s schedules
- Establish overall project reporting and metrics including; Rules of Credit, Dashboard reports, S Curves, bi-weekly and monthly cost and progress reports
- Responsible for supporting the overall Estimate development in conjunction with Area Managers and Cost Control activities on the project;
- Development of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
- Development of Work Plan and Budgets (WP&B)
- Develop Owners Costs and below the line costs
- Oversee Contractor Estimating team
- Facilitate third party Cost and Schedule Assurance
- Manage Project Cost Accounting including the review and approval of vendor invoices
- Establish Progress Measurement, Performance Assessment (Earned Value)
- Establish and manage the project Change Management process
- Establish and manage Contingency drawdown including Budget transfers
- Establish and manage overall Forecasting and variance analysis for the project
- Establish project approvals matrix including; expenses, travel, PAAF’s and over time approvals
- Establish Cost control system for the project and ensure interface with ERP and Scheduling systems
- Ensure project cost and physical progress is aligned

Reporting to: Project Controls Manager
Duration: 3 year contract
Desired start date: December 1st, 2015
Gross monthly salary: $120,000 per annum

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Accounting or Finance
- 10 years of Project Controls experience on Major/Mega Capital Projects in the Mining & Metals sector with a tier 1 independent Mining company or a large Engineering and Construction (EPCM) Company
- 5 years of experience in a Senior Project Controls Lead level role
- Hands on working knowledge in the use and implementation of Project Control Systems such as EcoSys, Prism, Primavera P6, SAP or equivalent
- Skilled knowledge of cost and schedule Risk Management and Risk Analysis using Pertmaster, Crystal Ball, Acumen Risk or equivalent
- Proven ability to review, analyse and carry out assurance activities on Contractor’s estimates, schedules, change registers, risk registers, cost reports and forecasts
