The role
Senior Project Manager - Buildings Project
The successful applicant will need to have experience in coordinating and managing multiple stakeholders and demonstrate the ability to build robust, long term relationships and integrated teams.
Working in a client facing role, responsible for the direct management of the extended professional teams comprising local and international consultants and contractors.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Managing the delivery of the entire packages of this mega-project.
• Giving direct on-site leadership and management of contractors.
• Providing on-site leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
• Developing a high performing team that strives for quality, safety, cost and schedule improvements at every opportunity with all delivery partners.
• Procuring adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes.
• Managing the day to day project activities and resources and chairs the project management team meetings.
• Monitoring staff performance and complete performance reviews.
• Providing status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership.
• Managing project scope and changes.
• Participating and/or driving feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders.
• Producing reports on progress, compliance, design, quality on periodic and ad hoc basis and incorporating interventions required to deliver optimum output.
• Developing budget, application for funds via project approval process and management of project budget across project lifecycle and providing ongoing financial information.
• Coordinating with commercial team to advice on areas where extra cost may be either incurred and agree route for recording and resolution.
• Assisting in dispute, negotiation, arbitration or litigation, as needed.
• Developing and managing all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues.
• Delivering appropriate and effective executive level communication.
Requirements
Your experience, knowledge and skills need to include:
• Minimum of 12 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Proven track record of working within a large construction and project management team.
• Extensive experience in buildings project is an advantage - hotels/mixed-use /commercial.
• Dubai experience is essential for client approval.
• Detailed knowledge and appreciation of health and safety is essential.
• Strong management skills and commercial awareness.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, using a flexible pragmatic approach.
• Excellent organisation, delegation and communication skills.
• Ability to work within a high performing team that continuously outperforms expectations and objectives.
Qualifications
• A degree qualification is essential for client approval.
• Professional memberships are an advantage but are not essential.
