Job description / Role
The Research Hub team is composed of industry-aligned specialists supporting the strategy consulting business in the Middle East. The candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Providing in-depth industry research and analysis services to project and proposal teams,
primarily focusing on secondary research for the Financial Services, and complementing with primary research
• Analyzing and working on cases and content pieces with a particular focus on Banking/FS
space (on topics such as Retail Banking, Wholesale Banking, Business Transformation, Post Merger Integration- PMI, Digitization, Merger & Acquisition- M&A etc.).
• Guide and provide inputs to client/team members leading to the successful strategy execution across key sectors/topics
• Developing and maintaining a database of Financial Services sector experts per topic and reaching out to them when needed for proposal or project work
• Developing research toolkits and knowledge products for the Financial Services team
• Managing key relationships with the project leads /partners and setting an annual research plan (including work on viewpoints)
• Managing vendor resources - responsible for their delivery, time/project management and growth
Responsibilities
Research and Analysis
• Autonomously support client teams on sector-specific requests for projects and proposals by leveraging internal and external subscriptions across the network
• Deliver on research service menu products, including benchmarking; company profiling; and financial analysis, industry baselining, and market trends
• Extract and structure insights in an easy to read, presentable format, using visual aids to depict key messages
• Coordinate and schedule request delivery and define priorities to ensure on-time and quality outputs
• Liaise with the Financial Services consulting team leads to plan annual research and initiatives agenda by discussing upcoming projects and marketing needs
• Serve as an embedded team member on client engagements to support select workstreams by taking full ownership of data requirements, research, synthesis, and final deliverables
• Innovate research services by creating digital tools to support client staff teams to work efficiently and extract relevant trends and insights
• With guidance from senior team members, partners with case teams to identify & address critical knowledge for projects and support project teams
• Creating reports on new trends, new topics, regulations etc. highlighting the overall impact on Financial Services
• Become familiar with internal intellectual capital availability and work with topic specialists to create well- rounded research outputs
• Train client staff to use different databases and knowledge platforms
Requirements
• 2-5 years of consulting experience in relevant Financial Institutions area; candidates with consulting experience preferred
• Instead of consulting experience, 4-6+ years of industry experience is strongly preferred
• CA/MBA Degree required (preferably in Finance/Banking/Digital)
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders while working in a global collaborative team environment, ; Arabic (reader and speaker) preferred
• Familiarity of research databases related to Financial Services eg Bloomberg, Capital IQ, SNL
• Strong analytical skills and data research capability along with strong financial acumen
• Ability to multi-task & operate effectively in a matrix organization in a fast-paced environment
