Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Senior Strategic Planners are responsible for ensuring that the voice of the customer is integrated into communication strategy for new and existing business opportunities.

While the nature of the day to day responsibilities will vary, Senior Strategic Planners will need to consistently leverage the following skill sets:

- Understand and monitor new and pipeline competitors – strengths, weaknesses and areas of opportunity and threat for client brand
- Delineate the key customer insight upon which communications and strategy can be based
- Understand and monitor attitudes, practices and behaviors of the target customer
- Identify drivers and barriers of behavior and leverage points for change
- Demonstrate strong primary and secondary research skills
- Conduct comprehensive literature and internet searches
- Design and conduct primary market research studies to uncover critical insights for both new and existing business (e.g. identify KOLs, moderate KOL and community practice interviews, recommend and employ projective research techniques, etc.)
- Consult clients on market research design, methodology and results (qual and quant)
- Demonstrate moderate level of understanding of brand marketing and promotional strategy and partner with account/creative teams to provide strategic recommendations to clients
- Partner with account and creative teams on brand positioning development
- Partner on creative brief development
- Partner with Group Strategic Planners, account and creative teams on designing, facilitating and moderating client workshops (e.g. positioning workshops, etc.) to achieve client goals
- Moderate to high level of autonomy expected from Senior Strategic Planners; high autonomy position necessitates planners to proactively take ownership of assignments

Senior Strategic Planners will have significant exposure to senior management and clients – and will need to demonstrate confidence and success in these interactions

Requirements

- 5 years of experience: marketing, advertising, market research, consulting;
- Advanced degree preferred, but not required
- Proactive, dynamic, hard-working, entrepreneurial
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong client service skills (for both internal account/creative teams and external clients)
- Proficient multi-tasker
- Team player attitude
- Strategic planning experience
