Job description / Role
- Plan, design and build specific infrastructure systems that include Servers, Storage, Backup and Recovery, Virtualization and Core Infrastructure applications.
- Performs project management function for new projects along with the required coordination with relevant users, update of project documentation, scope and timeline.
- Ensure system’s performance, high availability and capacity. Manage and document system configurations.
- Administer and support specific data centre systems and ensure proper transition into production with the system administration team.
- Performs incident resolution, problem determination and root cause analysis.
- Assist in the development and execution of backup and retention policies and schedules, business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- In collaboration with Infrastructure and Business Application teams, solves complex and recurring operational issues and develops corrective actions as needed.
- Conducts product research, cost-benefit analyses and evaluate available technologies and sourcing options.
- And anymore duties required by the line manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
- 4 years of relevant technical experience.
- Detailed technical understanding of SAN fabric architectures, management/replication software and implementation of enterprise storage products. This includes SAN/NAS, FC, HBA, Tape Libraries and RAID methodologies. Experience with NetApp and EMC storage is a plus.
- In depth technical understanding of both Windows and Linux Server Operating Systems, directory services, network services and protocols, Email and Internet services.
- Significant experience with data center server hardware, virtualization technologies and Cloud computing.
- Good understanding of the system and security requirements for Database Management Systems and Web application environments.
- Good knowledge and experience with Server Management Software, Enterprise Backup, recovery and replication software as well as disaster recovery.
- Familiarity with hardware and software diagnostic tools to monitor performance and perform problem determination.
- Familiar with ITIL, IT Service Management framework and project
