Senior Technical Manager

Job description / Role

Our client, one of the leading business conglomerates in the United Arab Emirates is on the lookout for a Technical Senior Manager.

Job Purpose:
- Assess the industrial feasibility of different projects and plans, and participates in a project go-no or go decision.
- Develops and manages projects from the stage of the charter through project initiation, machinery and equipment selection, construction, commissioning, and initial production.
- Directs the management and monitoring of contractors and consultants throughout the projects to ensure projects are on time and within budget.
- Formulate Departmental strategies and objectives for physical Assets management, maintaining, EHS & controlling the master buildings assets in line with our Industries strategy, vision and mission and ensure implementation of the key strategic elements and timely execution and meeting of plans.
- Develop Blueprints and Support ERP Modules (Plant Maintenance, Capacity Planning, Production Management).
- Conduct onsite Technical audits and Due Diligences for our SBU’s (and for potential external investments) and produce performance reports and ensure closure of gaps to ensure compliance and business enhancements.
- Develop Industrial Operation Excellence (OPX): Policy and Procedures, Manual and Guidelines, Develop Lean Manufacturing and introducing shop floor industrial tools and KPI’s.
- Review, discuss and validate annual OPEX & CAPEX budget requirements and write-off as per our DOA
- Keep up to date with industry developments with respect to own discipline, other disciplines and engineering innovations and developments on a global scale
- Develop and monitor SBU’s operations & production Dashboards

Key Performance Areas:
- Planning, development and delivery of projects on budget, on schedule.
- Manages technical task forces of third parties including site consultants and contractors.
- On time accurate reporting.
- Monitoring, managing and improving the departmental functions.

Requirements

- A degree in Engineering
- At least 10-15 years in planning, approving, development and management of small to medium industrial projects from inception to post production is required. Experience of working with manufacturers, consulting and construction companies over a variety of projects is key.

Professional Qualifications/Mandatory Licences:
- Membership of a professional engineering body is desirable.
- Project management professional.
- Six Sigma.
- A driving license is required.
