Solutions Architect

Job description / Role

Opportunity with a leading Retail Company based in Dubai. The company is urgently looking for a solutions architect with experience in developing applications and handling global projects. The job involves travel to the United States and Europe. The position reports to the Chief Technology Officer.

The successful candidate, together with the Senior Management Team of the company, will design and deliver a business, data, information and technology design (architecture) and plan (roadmap) which will enable the successful delivery of the projects aligned to the divisional business strategy and operating model.

The company is a leading multinational Retail business with several offices located worldwide. The organization is expanding its IT team in Dubai and is looking for dynamic individuals who can help the company meet its Growth Accelaration Plan.

Description:
* Focus on the delivery of various technical solutions into the business, these may include current systems which require realignment as well as new solutions to the business
* Define standards for describing, governing, managing, modelling, analyzing, and delivering solution requirements across the enterprise, at a Divisional and cross Divisional/Group level
* Work alongside Business Analyst, PMO and other technology & business leaders inside and outside of the group to produce technical specifications for development, testing and system integration
* Recommend and participate in activities related to the design, development and maintenance of Enterprise Architecture across the division
* Document and obtain stakeholder sign-off of architectures at conceptual (business-friendly), logical and physical (infrastructure) levels of detail and be able to architect across an number of views such as application, integration, data, security and infrastructure
* Create and own the process for ensuring that solution architecture aligns with companys architectural standards and that appropriate recommendations are proposed to allow the right decisions to be made

Requirements

* 3+ years' experience in solutions architecture, design and planning
* Must have experience with large scale, global IT projects
* Must have experience in data modeling and database design, from conceptualization to database optimization
* Must have Application Development experience
* Must have strong project and change management experience
* Good understanding of architectural frameworks including TOGAF and Zachman required (Certification preferred)
* Confident, proactive, flexible, self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills
