Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

To support the Spa Manager in developing and maintaining the high standard of services in all aspects of the Spa Operation. The general responsibilities include being responsible and reporting all therapist activities relating in working schedule & leave balances, implementing in-house training program, providing exceptional customer service while performing quality massage therapies and body treatments as well as maintaining store compensation.

Responsible for Spa treatment sales and ensuring sales targets are met or exceeded in accordance with the Monthly Targets. As a Head Therapist for the spa, this role will, drive the Spa treatment bookings, maximize on sales and awareness within the resort, building strong guest relations and manage an effective retention program for spa treatments whilst driving and delivering Willow Stream Spa and Fairmont standards.

Hotel Overview:

Fairmont The Palm is a luxury, world-class resort located on the iconic Palm Jumeirah Island in Dubai. The hotel features 391 guest rooms and suites with dedicated Fairmont Gold rooms and lounge. A total of 11 food and beverage outlets on property offer international dining options including Little Miss India, Frevo - Brazilian Churrasco experience, Seagrill Bistro, Ba Restaurant and Lounge, Blowfish, Flow Kitchen, The Cigar Room, Vuvuzela and others. Fairmont The Palm also features an expansive pool and beach area with a health club, Willow Stream Spa and the Fairmont Falcons Kids' Club.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assessment of all therapists, constant development and training in specialist treatments and customer service.
- Provide treatments and training within the therapy department to the highest standards of service whilst supporting the Manger with business demands.
- Constantly maintain high levels of room and therapist presentation ensuring rooms are kept in a clean, hygienic, safe and well-maintained condition.
- Fully understand and monitor daily treatment and retail sales revenues and ensure these are effectively communicated to all therapists
- Liaison with product suppliers with regard to training needs, improving retails sales, stock, retail displays and promotions
- Organize and control an effective stock management system of all treatment and retail product, following standard Purchase Order procedures.
- Assist the Spa/Therapy Manager, interview, trade test and select all new therapists.
- Carry out regular appraisals of all therapists in accordance with the hotel personnel procedures.
- Ensure the efficient and effective scheduling of therapist rotas comply with business needs of the company.
- Do Monthly Stock Inventory, Communication meetings.
- Deliver performance in retail and aesthetic/spa treatment sales, aiming to meet or exceed targets as set by Spa Manager.
- Work in conjunction with the recreation, front office and concierge teams to maintain close guest relationship management and increase capture rate
- To provide monthly updates Sales performance against actual/budgeted retail sales and aesthetic treatment sales.
- Maximize sales from all business centers in the spa by up selling and cross sales.
- Produce a sales action plan which will facilitate the retail and treatment sales
- Participate in sales and marketing in-house events.
- Deliver performance in retail and aesthetic/spa treatment sales, aiming to meet or exceed targets as set by Spa Manager.

Requirements

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES & REQUIREMENTS

- Certification from an accredited school of Massage and Aesthetics required
- All professional licenses are to be current
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

EXPERIENCE

- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the same position in a luxury hotel
