Sr. Back-End Developer

Job description / Role

One of our well established clients is looking for an analytical, results-driven back-end developer who will work with the team members to troubleshoot and improve current back-end applications and processes. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Development of all server-side logic and definition
• Maintenance of the central database
• Ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end
• Build with PHP, Laravel and Node.js
• Build and ship reliable software leveraging automated testing and continuous delivery

Requirements

Having a solid PHP background, you will have a good grasp of the Laravel framework (or another MVC) with an understanding of front-end technology. A breakdown of the skills, education and experience requirements are as follows:

• PHP / Laravel / Node.js / Python
• MySQL / Redis
• Kubernetes / Docker/ AWS
• Automated testing with PHPUnit
• Github, Slack, Zoom
• In-depth knowledge of object-oriented principles and design patterns
• Experience with web services (REST, GraphQL, WebSocket) and APIs
• Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries in RDBs
• Experience working with the LNMP stack
• Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes
• Knowledge and experience implementing data storage solutions
• Bachelors/master’s degree in computer science/software engineering
• 6-8 years of experience developing in modern programming languages such as PHP, Python, Java, JavaScript
• Ability to multitask and smoothly transition between tasks across multiple projects
• Fluent in English and a strong communicator. Explaining complex technical concepts to other cross functional teams is no problem for you
• Proficiency in Arabic will be an added advantage
