What you'll be doing
At Chalhoub, we share leading brands with the world. As a category manager you will be responsible for defining and driving the "offer" and purchasing strategy for different products categories and brands. You will also define the action plan for the categories, merchandising, promotional activities, prices and negotiations.
- Act as leader in managing the total cost of ownership of the Procurement area, coordinating the strategic buyers who manage each category
- Coordinate planning efforts and lead strategic sourcing analysts
- Review, monitor and approve strategic plans by category
- Supervise the development and implementation of improvements through the strategic management process his/her categories
- Monitor the selection and management process of current suppliers, verifying compliance with the policy
- Track performance of each category under his/her management
- Develop best practices in each category
- Ensure user satisfaction in the strategic sourcing process
- Maintain user areas informed about the progress of strategic categories that impact them
Requirements
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in retail stores fit out
- Excellent procurement management skills
- Excellent retail fit out project management skills
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Arabic is a plus
