Our newest opportunity is for a talented Street Lighting Engineer to join our award winning team based in Al Ain, UAE.

Responsibilities

We envisage success in this role to include;

- Developing lighting plans and designs for streets, public spaces, and pedestrian areas.
- Selecting appropriate lighting fixtures, poles, and placement to ensure optimal visibility and coverage.
- Ensuring that street lighting designs comply with local, state, and national regulations and standards.
- Staying informed about changes in lighting technology and regulations to incorporate them into designs.
- Incorporating energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable lighting solutions.
- Implementing technologies such as LED lighting and smart controls to minimize energy
- Developing cost estimates for street lighting projects, including equipment, installation, and ongoing maintenance.
- Managing budgets and resources efficiently to meet project goals.
- Overseeing the implementation of street lighting projects from conception to completion.
- Coordinating with other departments, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Implementing lighting control systems to regulate brightness levels, optimize energy usage, and respond to varying conditions (e.g., daylight sensors, timers).
- Incorporating smart technologies for remote monitoring and control.
- Developing maintenance plans to ensure the ongoing functionality of street lighting systems.
- Conducting regular inspections and assessments to identify and address maintenance needs promptly.
- Collaborating with city planners, traffic engineers, and other relevant departments to integrate street lighting seamlessly into overall urban planning.
- Coordinating with utility providers for power supply and infrastructure considerations.
- Engaging with the community to gather input on street lighting preferences and concerns.
- Addressing public feedback and concerns related to street lighting installations.
- Creating and maintaining documentation, including lighting plans, specifications, and as-built drawings.
- Generating reports on the performance and status of street lighting systems.
- Ensuring that street lighting installations meet safety standards and regulations.
- Incorporating safety features such as proper shielding and glare reduction.
- Staying updated on emerging technologies in street lighting, including smart city initiatives.
- Evaluating and integrating technologies that enhance the functionality and efficiency of street lighting systems.

Requirements

Qualifications

- To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 10 years work experience partnered with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Lighting Design, or a related field.
