Structural Engineer

Job description / Role

- Lead structural design of buildings and treatment facilities in coordination with architecture and utilities infrastructure groups.
- Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analysis and construction cost estimates
- Perform construction related services including shop drawing reviews, response to requests for information, periodic construction site observation, and occasional specialized structural inspections
- Manage structural portion of project budgeting
- Direct CAD technicians and designers in the production of CAD drawings and BIM models.
- Provide pre-design services such as data gathering, programming, and planning
- Provide complete structural construction documents including drawings, specifications, calculations and cost estimating support for building frames, foundations, equipment and supports, etc
- Prepare written reports based on findings from studies, structural analyses, and condintion assessment
- Coordinate work with other design disciplines
- Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for drawing preparations and checking process
- Construction phase support- Respond to RFI’s, review construction submittals and shop drawings, perform construction site observations and prepare report
- Function as a technical expert making recommendations to design consultants, contractors & owners

Requirements

- 5+ years of experience in Construction in any GCC countries
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural focus from an ABET accredited college or university
- Should have experienced in related structural design of buildings and treatment facilities including the design of masonry, concrete, steel and timber structures and components. Knowledge of military design guides, progressive collapse, AT/FP and blast design requirements are preferred
- In-depth knowledge of RAMSteel and STAAD design software is required. MathCAD, enercalc and other design software knowledge is preferred
- Strong communication skills, ability to work with clients and colleagues, and thorough design documentation and detailing is required
