Structural Packaging Designer

Job description / Role

Salary: 8,000 to 10,000 AED

Our client is one of the oldest and largest private business holdings in the UAE. It consists of more than 25 autonomous companies in various sectors of the economy. Each Group is able to enter into any business in their relevant expertise sector - for trading, manufacturing or services - and, can expand their business beyond their home base in the United Arab Emirates.

They are looking to hire a Structural Packaging Designer who will create custom and innovative packaging design concepts for a variety of clients and industries ranging from food products to pharmaceuticals.

Job Responsibilities:
- Follow the Design Centre 4D Design Process.
- Able to generate high quality ideas, concepts, solutions through sketching and prototyping.
- Review packaging design, manufacturing and materials to reduce the total cost of packaging.
- Prepare, develop proposals and present to the client with a comprehensive action plan.
- Conduct on-site packaging audits, specification reviews, lab testing and trials of packaging concepts.
- Responsible for the organization, storage and distribution for all design specifications, revision control, assembly instructions and manufacturing releases files
- Stays current with Impact Cad or Artios CAD, CAPE, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Adobe suite and other software updates, industry standards and technology developments
- Calibrates and ensures that cutting table and proofer are working well and makes full utilization of their capability

Requirements

- Expert level experience using 2D/3D software (Impact CAD or Artios CAD, CAPE, Adobe Suite, etc.).
- 5 plus years’ experience in Packaging Design and Development (UAE Experience is not mandatory)
- BS in Engineering, Packaging Science or a similar discipline.
- Advanced level experience using CAD software (Impact CAD, Artios CAD, CAPE, etc.). Experience with Adobe CS suite for graphic interaction is required. 3D modeling and presentation skills are beneficial.
- Experience working with folding carton, corrugated, flexible label products, point-of-purchase. Knowledge of production processes, machine limitations and production standards are required
- Job location is Dubai and Sharjah based on the need as they have two offices
