Play Your Part

Provide practical and organizational support to all colleagues of the park in terms of uniforms and costumes. Work with the Costume/Wardrobe Manager in managing the daily operations of wardrobe. Manage, train and motivate team members inclusive of training, hiring, disciplinary and appraisals. Ensure the daily maintenance and laundry duties of costume/wardrobe team are conducted effectively, safely and efficiently, making certain that the DPR quality standards are always adhered to. Designing and producing entertainment costumes and uniforms under IP guidelines and run both sides of the operations in the park.

Main Duties:

- Communicate effectively and efficiently with management as well as direct reports and team members.
- Interface with internal, departmental and external clients in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
- Ensure the efficient, effective and smooth daily operations of the costume/wardrobe department.
- Disseminate all internal and external company communications to team members.
- Coordinate with assistant managers on any daily operational issues in regards to processes, procedures, or policies.
- Assist with management in keeping team members up to date on any changes.
- Escalate any issues as to employee/hr, daily operations, etc. to assistant manager in a timely manner.
- Coach and train the direct reports on the issues such as and not limited to uniform conveyor system, uniform inventory system, Wardrobe counter, fittings, assigning/ unassigning of uniforms, laundry.
- Understand safety requirements and ensure the daily emphasis on a safe workplace.
- Manage the implementation of the inventory system. Maintain the costume/wardrobe inventory system up to date.
- Work with the team leaders to oversee the weekly team member schedules.
- Manage team member vacations and days off.
- Manage the daily operation of the 3rd party laundry vendor of uniforms.
- Report any operational issues to the Assistant Manager and to the vendor team timely and request the implementation of the solution immediately.
- Oversee the monthly billing of the 3rd party laundry vendor to cross check any fault. This is to avoid wrongful billing.
- Prepare timely for the seasonal uniforms and plan ahead of time accordingly for the needs and report to the Assistant Manager.
- Facilitate training classes and career development tools for team member's success.
- Coordinate safety training and certification.
- Set objectives, create milestones and conduct appraisals for direct reports within the Electronic Performance Management System guidelines.
- Help to identify successors within the team and prepare them for their next accountable roles. In consultation with HR, recommend external training's where required.
- Create a safe, fun work environment for all colleagues.
- Daily reviews of the uniformed park employees to ensure quality control of costumes/wardrobe.
- Oversee maintenance of costume/wardrobe, making sure certain regular cleaning, repairs are done so costumes are always up to DPR quality standards.
- Work directly with Supervisors/Managers of different departments to schedule and manage fittings with new and existing colleagues.
- Work directly with the seamstresses to oversee their workload and direct them accordingly.
- Maintain all inventory reports, including, but not limited to costume, wardrobe, laundry supplies and makeup.
- Communicate in a timely manner when supplies/inventory is running low.
- During daily duties, the employee may be required to hand sew, cut, handle dirty laundry, stand for long periods of time, walk to venues, climb, balance, lift up to 50 lbs, etc. as per needed for daily operations.
- Flexibility and adapting to changing work environments.
- Any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Management Team

Requirements

Are You a Star?

In order to be qualified for this role you should possess the below criteria:

Essential:

- Should have High School/ diploma in fashion designing or 5 years plus experience managing wardrobe or costume departments in Theme Parks, University, Cruise Lines or Live Theater
- 5 years plus experience managing wardrobe or costume departments in Theme Parks, University, Cruise Lines or Live Theater
- Manager or Supervisory experience managing a costume workroom
- Knowledge of sewing/tailoring, cutting/fitting, pattern-making.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals.
- Proficient in Microsoft office
- Advanced English Skills- both written and spoke
- People and time management
- Ability to communicate with all kinds of people
- Great problem solver
- Ability to work well in a high pressured and fast paced environment

Desirable:

- University Diploma in Theatrical Costuming
- Managerial experience in Wardrobe & Costume under entertainment department
- Minimum 5 years experience in theme parks and/ professional theater / entertainment events management
- Managing inventory systems
- Ability to navigate well on both PC and Mac computers
- Ability to adapt to an ever changing work environment
- Ability to work with many different artistic personalities and staff
- Ability to juggle several different tasks and job responsibilities at the same time
