Job description / Role

A tailor is a skilled professional who specializes in creating, altering, and repairing clothing items. They work with a variety of materials, such as fabric, leather, and fur, and use specialized equipment, such as sewing machines and irons, to complete their tasks.We are seeking a skilled tailor to join our team in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating, altering, and repairing a variety of clothing items, and possess strong attention to detail and a keen eye for design.

Responsibilities:
- Measure and mark fabrics according to specifications and patterns
- Cut, sew, and assemble fabric pieces to create clothing items
- Alter and repair clothing items, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and replacing zippers or buttons
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences
- Offer suggestions and recommendations for fabric choices, styles, and designs
- Maintain an organized and clean work area
- Keep track of inventory and supplies, and place orders as needed
- Keep up-to-date with fashion trends and techniques
- Ensure high-quality work and attention to detail in every task

Salary:
AED 1,400 to 2,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

- Proven experience as a tailor or in a similar role
- Knowledge of different fabrics and their properties
- Proficiency in using sewing machines and other tailoring equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and strong hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Strong time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Good communication skills to collaborate with clients and colleagues
- Creativity and an eye for design
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods of time.
