Job description / Role

- Commitment to the Ethos at Emirates British Nursery.
- Supporting activities with all students to ensure their safety and facilitate their physical, emotional and educational development.
- Support children to become familiar within Nursery and to feel confident and safe.
- Support children basic care needs i.e. toiletry, meal times
- Adhering to the Policies and Procedures of Emirates British Nursery.
- Ensuring confidentiality is maintained within the Nursery.
- Working as part of a team.
- The care and supervision of the children with regard to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.
- Support the teacher in the preparation of activities, to meet children’s individual needs, ensuring effective communication within the Nursery.
- Offering all children equal opportunities with regard to their religious beliefs, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background; in particular, challenging situations where racism or discrimination is displayed.
- Positive management of children’s behavior.
- Preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of the playrooms and equipment.
- Providing a good role model for Nursery Assistants and helping new staff to fit into the Nursery.
- Supervision of meals and mealtimes and, where appropriate, preparation of babies’ bottles.
- Laundry duties (where appropriate).
- Attendance of team meetings as arranged by the Headmistress.
- Participating in regular publicity, open weekends and children’s outings.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Education/ Nursing (Must be attested)
- Females only; Age up to 33 years old. Well groomed, presentable candidates.
- Ability to build good relationships with children, teachers, parents and carers
- Basic understanding of how children develop and learn flexibility and creativity
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good reading, writing and numeracy skills patience and a sense of humor
- Ability to manage groups of children and cope with challenging behavior.

Work Timings: 7:30am – 5:30pm (Sunday to Thursday)
