Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

JOB PURPOSE :

Supervise, plan and execute the drilling operations to ensure all operations are conducted safe, efficient, cost effective and environment friendly manner and in accordance with company policy, procedures and drilling operations standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific Accountabilities
- Review drilling, completions and workover programs and operating procedures to ensure strict adherence to company systems, procedures, standards, safety rules and regulations.
- Guide implementation of best practices for extended-reach drilling.
- Monitor the quality, efficiency and safety of well work through continuous analysis of KPIs and objectives met.
- Assist manager drilling operations in the preparation of team's KPIs and budgets of the drilling and work-over operations.
- Provide support to multi-disciplinary team in the programming phase and operational teams in the execution phase of well delivery process (WDP), project planning / execution and review.
- Review and recommend drilling programs / detailed drilling instructions to ensure meeting operational and safety requirements.
- Recommend changes on project priorities, utilization of resources, assignment of personnel and budget based on phase accomplishment and changing operations conditions.
- Reviews and comment on time / depth curve, post-plan, AFE, project risks, opportunities and management of change (MOC) during operations.
- Supervise the work of selected contractors and ensure the work carried out is aligned to company's specifications and HSE regulations.
- Plan the details of the well operations and assure that the necessary personnel, equipment, supplies, and services are available when needed.
- Verify operations comply with the Standard Drilling Instructions (SDI) and Drilling Safety Instructions (DSI) Manuals and SIMOPS procedures.
- Monitor drilling, completions and workover performance and develop operating improvements in conjunction with the Drilling Engineering Team.
- Coordinate with contractor personnel to monitor operations performance, optimize drilling operations and reduce non-productive time (NPT).
- Set guidelines for drilling operation performance, direct and participate in technical and feasibility studies covering drilling related operations including comparison between existing and new techniques and/or practices and review of recommendations for the use of such techniques and/or practices to produce quality wells.
- Participate in designing and/or confirming designs, re-engineering and specifications of drilling equipment to ensure technology and industry practices are effectively introduced.
- Participate in operational audits and review reports, investigations and follow-up of all accidents and near misses on-site. Maintain site emergency plans and organize major exercises / drills.
- Follow-up on drilling experience, lessons learned and enhance rigs operations.
- Work in line with HSE policy, and ensure awareness and compliance of HSE rules and regulations by subordinates.

Generic Accountabilities

Management
- Plan and supervise the activities of the personnel and resources of the Team to achieve the Department objectives in an efficient and cost-conscious manner while ensuring implementation of approved operational plans for the Team in line with Department objectives.
- Develop the knowledge, competencies and innovative spirit in the Team and support the establishment of Personal Development Plans (PDP's), Succession Planning and Talent pipeline within the Team in coordination with the Human Capability Group to continuously develop employees with emphasis on UAE Nationals to meet Emiratization targets.

Budgets and Operational Plans
- Compile and provide input for preparation of the Department budgets and regularly monitor expenditure against approved the Team budget levels.
- Investigate, highlight and reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Lead the implementation of approved Team policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures and internal controls in order to support execution of the Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Performance Management
- Implement the Company Performance Management System for individuals within the Team in accordance with Company approved guidelines and continuously monitor the achievement of the Team KPIs related to the approved Annual Performance Management Contract and the Balanced Score Card.

Organisation Structure and Development
- Review, develop and recommend the appropriate organisation structure for the Team that will best utilise human capital while proactively incorporating sustainability into the on-going work practices to meet the business objectives.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Encourage innovation, enhance employee motivation and support initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve operations and services.
- Propose improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the Team.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
- Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, systems & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the Team in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
- Ensure adequate HSE training and induction for all Team employees to meet HSE standards.

Management Information Systems (MIS) and Reports
- Prepare all Team MIS and progress reports to provide accurate and timely reports and necessary information to Company Management to effectively manage the business.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in petroleum or Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 12 years of experience, in Drilling/ Upstream operations with 4 years in a supervisory capacity
