Technical Architect

Job description / Role

We at Al Tayer Group are looking for a Technical Architect as a part of our IT Infrastructure & Operations team to link business mission and strategy to IT strategy, ensure that all systems solutions are aligned to the same vision, develop and maintain high level design plan for the enterprise systems enterprise architecture, including technical consulting and decision making on enterprise applications to enable robust implementation and effective functioning of corporate and retail systems.

The role would include:
- Cloud strategy including technical architecture design, interfaces and cloud service management
- Maintain Technology roadmap aligned with application lifecycle, vendor support and end of life matrix
- Conduct impact of planned activities on the performance, availability and capacity of the systems
- Implementation of strategic Technology architecture programs
- Develop and manage the Infrastructure Capacity and Resource plan for the deployment of Enterprise Applications, along with key milestones, resource mobilization, support required etc
- Conduct research on emerging technologies
- Direct or indirect involvement in the development of policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of Information Technology within the enterprise
- Participate in the root cause, problem and solution analysis post implementation to ensure high performance of the enterprise system
- Adhere to the IT release management guidelines to ensure smooth release of new patches and updates to the application in close coordination with the stakeholders

Requirements

The Technical Architect would be a graduate or post graduate in IT with tertiary qualification in IT Architecture / PMP etc. with atleast 8 - 10 years experience and more with the last few years in IT Technical Architecture development and implementation in similar diversified / retail environment.

The incumbent would be an assertive, dynamic and analytical individual who has experience in interacting with C-suite and cross functional stakeholders, lead multiple IT projects, strategic planning and implementation capability, result oriented and project management certified / experienced. Knowledge of TOGAF / Zachman methodologies would be an advantage.

The candidate should be well versed with:
- Microsoft domains, Virtualization, IBM Power systems, Cloud, Enterprise Storage, Back ups, Network, Security, etc.
