Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Direct Line responsibility: Business Development Director

The primary function of the role is to provide technical support for the business by liaising through management with contractors and specifiers at all levels. The role will primarily but not exclusively involve working on the company’s water management solutions products.

Key Accountabilities
- To promote the Company at all times in a professional and positive manner.
- To undertake drainage pipe and attenuation systems design work. This will include mechanical, structural and hydraulic calculations.
- To carry out value engineering and offer alternative solutions to schemes already specified.
- To carry out drainage take offs as required.
- To work on bespoke projects for system design.
- To respond to customers requests for technical services or support in relation to the products manufactured by the business.
- Produce standard details for company and or for submission to site using AutoCAD.
- Ensure up to date excellent product and market knowledge is maintained in order to effectively communicate all features and benefits to both current and prospective customers.
- To work with the Marketing department as required, providing technical input to literature and other marketing activities.
- To work with the R&D department to provide technical input to new product developments.
- To work as part of a team to produce technical submissions to short deadlines.
- To work with the Commercial teams to maximise product selling opportunities, by spotting opportunities for package selling of the Companies products.
- To comply with and maintain the systems and processes used by the business.
- Attendance to trade shows, displays and meetings as and when required.
- Any other duties that can be reasonably expected.
- Ensure activities are carried out whilst complying with all measures introduced by the company with respect to Health, Safety and the Environment. In particular to comply with all procedures, safe working methods and practices and agreed rules to protect your own Health and Safety as well as others that may be affected by your actions, or omissions.
- Fully support the Health and Safety Policy, as laid down in the Company procedures.

Requirements

- Language capabilities preferable - English essential. Arabic / Indian an advantage
- Experience of living and working in the UAE essential
- Civil / Structural Engineer qualification or similar suitable professional qualification preferable
- Knowledge of industry standards and design criteria
- Past experience in dealing with Consultants / Contractors at a senior level
- Ability to work as part of a team, be motivational, as well as being self-motivated
- Ability to monitor own performance and take appropriate action to maximise outputs
- Excellent communication and relationship skills
- Computer literate, competent in CAD, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
- Time management skills
- Flexibility relative to on-going business needs

Remuneration
- Basic Salary: ED TBA pcm to include accommodation allowance
- Bonus Opportunity: TBA - based on sales performance of business
- Medical Cover: Provided (extended to local family by discussion only)
- Expense Account: As required on external visits
- Holiday Entitlement: 22 days + Local Holidays
- Transportation: Own transport required
- Computer: Desktop PC
- Flights: One economy flight pa
