Technology Consultant

Job description / Role

Our looking for an experienced Technology Consultant to work in our Dubai office. This is a critical role within our Implementation Services team specializing in Client’s Advanced Crime Analytics and Risk Management solutions. The position requires hands on work with our products as well as a significant amount of data transformation, modelling and mapping work involving disparate data formats and volumes. If you are passionate about data and implementing big data solutions this is the role for you.

THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead technical implementation of complex data analytics and data integration engagements
- Hands on project delivery – data analysis, modelling and development of ETL components
- Lead solution design discussions with domain experts, client stakeholders and Client internal teams
- Provide technical expertise to internal teams
- Provide application configuration, testing and deployment expertise for Client systems
- Provide feedback from customers to the Product Management team with proposed application system changes, enhancements and developments to enhance Client products

Requirements

- Prior experience in implementation of data analytics solutions
- Experience in data architecture, data integration, data analytics, modelling, scripting and ETL
- A relevant bachelor’s degree
- Project management experience, and excellent analytical, problem-solving skills
- Must be flexible to travel within the Middle East for short periods as and when required and also to work weekends on a rotation basis
- Excellent English language communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills – must demonstrate the ability to communicate complex technical issues to both peers and non-technical staff
- Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to work with users of all ability levels and understanding the needs of the customer

The successful applicant will have solid knowledge of at least FIVE or more of the following areas:
- Windows server and Windows desktop operating systems
- Database administration (MS SQL Server) - ability to write queries and updates, manage backups and restores etc.
- Strong scripting skills (Python preferred)
- Internet Information Services (IIS), including configuring websites, .NET application pools, security etc.
- Enterprise class disk subsystem technologies and management
- Storage devices and file systems
- File types, content, compression and encryption
- Networking (DNS, TCP/IP, AD, DHCP)
- ETL tool experience
