Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The manager will ensure that the training programs meet the highest quality standards while also ensuring compliance with applicable GCAA regulations, ICAO Trainair Plus regulations as well as any other applicable training regulations. This role requires a deep understanding of applicable GCAA regulations and ICAO Trainair Plus standards, as well as experience in aviation training and development.

Accountabilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of aviation training programs based on applicable GCAA regulations, ICAO Trainair Plus standards and other relevant standards (where applicable)
- Supervise and develop instructor and examiner staff in accordance with documented procedures
- Create and deliver training materials, including presentations, handouts, and online training modules
- Facilitate training sessions, both in-person and online. Ideally a subject matter expert in Aerodrome operations and/or AVSEC.
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as needed
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in aviation training and ICAO Trainair Plus standards
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify training needs and opportunities
- Ensure compliance with standards and regulations
- Act as a liaison between the organization and ICAO for Trainair Plus related matters
- Maintaining the quality of training programs and materials by adhering to established standards and regulations.
- Identifying areas for improvement in existing training programs and recommending changes
- Represent the functional area in internal and external audits, where necessary

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in aviation, education, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in aviation training and development
- Strong understanding of ICAO Trainair Plus standards
- Aerodrome Operations and / or Aviation Security (AVSEC) experience
- Experience with online training platforms and tools
- Experience in adult learning principles and instructional design
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs
- Experience with compliance and regulatory matters in the aviation industry
