Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Prepares daily schedule according to the details of the orders, spl instructions from WH, CS and other departments to maximize the use of the available fleet.
- Provides the customer Service/WH team with all the details regarding the dispatch of orders/delivery details such as truck, driver, time of arrival etc., once the shipment has been picked from the warehouse.
- Prepares the job file/summary and checks for all relevant documents, chargeable (various departments) services and costs before forwarding to finance.
- Coordinates shipment arrangements together with the dispatch team to ensure shipments are scheduled for pick up, loading, and departure to final destination and that they are on time. Any delays and changes have to be escalated and proactively actioned.
- Takes ownership of complaints and queries and proactively follows through to resolution.
- Ensures that all customers’ queries are investigated and resolved, and escalates queries to the
- Supervisor- if appropriate.
- Actively takes ownership of all transportation aspects of daily shipments/deliveries.
- Works pro-actively with internal and external customers and suppliers to provide complete transportation solutions.
- Ensures HSE and Quality standards are maintained across each operation.
- Follows up on the exit entry details of the bonded transfers and orders.
- Ensures vehicle maintenance checks are in place and maintenance is being tracked, done and recorded
- in an organized, timely and ethical manner.
- Ensures to have complete control over the day-to-day operations providing support to Drivers, Distribution Assistants and liaising with customers (internal & external) as and when required.
- Liaises with CS/ Warehouse Operations and provide regular updates on status of shipments/deliveries and follow up for the timely receipt of PODs.
- Continuously measures and controls warehouse, transport and documentation activities to ensure that timelines and service levels are met.
- Manage the delivery issues by liaising with CS and the delivery team if required.
- Maintains a healthy relationship with warehouse operations team (Manager, CSR, Supervisor, etc.) by
- meeting them consistently to acquire feedback and share operational updates
- Prepares necessary inbound & outbound status reports, billing and any other reports as required
- Ensure that all cost information is available for Finance within monthly timelines
- Elevates potential issues and opportunities for improvement to his Line Manager.
- Supports decisions made by customer service management and conveys to the team in a positive manner.
- Identifies and escalates consistent or recurring problems with the systems‘ functionality.
- Any other related duties/projects assigned by the Line Manager from time to time in order to meet business needs

Requirements

- 2 to 5 years’ experience in FMCG Logistics or 3PL.
- Computer literate with exposure to MS Office.
- Knowledge of TMS, GPS, Scheduling & Maintenance.

Desirable:
- Good knowledge of UAE rules.
