Job description / Role

The Transportation Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Travel demand modeling using currently-used packages such as CUBE VISUM, etc.
- Operational analysis using standard techniques and packages (e.g. SYNCHRO, HCS, VISSIM).
- Preparation of traffic impact studies for small and large developments including data collection and analysis); development and analysis of mitigation measures.
- Urban/metropolitan transportation planning and traffic engineering tasks including corridor studies, regional network studies.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- MS in Transportation Planning\Traffic Engineering or related discipline
- 4-8 years experience in transportation planning incl. preparation of transportation master plans and traffic impact studies
- Sound understanding of travel demand modeling theory and practice
- No less than 3 years hands-on experience in travel demand modeling (CUBE in particular) (transit modeling experience desirable)
- Experience in operational traffic analysis (e.g. SYNCHRO, HCS, Sidra) including micro-simulation (e.g. VISSIM) required
- Very good communication skills especially in report writing
- Additional transportation planning and engineering experience such as public transportation planning, non-motorized transportation; parking management, traffic signal design etc. desirable
