Our client is a leading conglomerate of companies in the GCC who currently seek to appoint a Vice President – Information Technology for their Building Products Group of companies. This role is of a strategic nature and is responsible to provide strategic IT services across 10 companies within the Group. The major activities of this business unit include manufacturing companies for the building sector. This role will be based in Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE.

Reporting to the Group CEO and managing a team of 17 staff, the proven performer we seek for this newly created role that will be responsible to:
- Support wholly owned or Joint Venture companies of the Building Supply Sector.
- Implement and adjust the Information Technology strategy, policies, master plans and direction in line with the business group business objectives.
- Develop, prepare, analyse, recommend and present emerging technologies and solutions that will add value to the organisation for all business lines to achieve corporate objectives.
- Act as an internal consultant for all business divisions from an IT strategic perspective.
- Prepare and present IT budget requests to the Board.
- Selection of technology partners and vendors to ensure the most effective cost / benefit output is realised across all business lines.
- Manage the change management process for IT innovations.
- Undertake research and identify evidence to underpin advice and guidance on IT strategies that are evidence based, affordable and fit for implementation.
- Identify business and technology automation opportunities and formulate solutions framed within the business and IT domain.
- Leadership, development, recruitment and performance management of an in house IT service team that supports day to day IT operations, application development – online ERP, core business systems, etc.

Requirements

- Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering, IT Management or comparable. Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Information System (MIS) would be highly regarded.
- 15+ years experience in IT with at least 5 years in a strategic IT role with a best practice multinational firm. Candidates with consulting experience as well as in house IT strategic experience are preferred.
- Knowledge or experience in IT management, governance and risk management is essential and candidates with internationally recognised consultancy experience across a broad array of industry groups are desirable.
- Familiarity with international leading edge systems, technology and business architectures, models, and standards, knowledge of IT and Business processes and services.
- Experience in ERP and notably Epicor would be highly regarded.
- Strong and communication skills are essential as candidates must present at Board Level and possess strong commercial acumen.
