Mubadala's Group Communications division are the custodians of the Mubadala Investment Company brand and our mission is to build, protect and promote the Mubadala Group's reputation.

We support the group to deliver on its mandate through world-class internal and external communications. Through our business partners and centers of expertise, we provide communications counsel, services and employee engagement across the group.

The Challenge

- To oversee the development and the implementation of the communications strategy and plans for the platform and sectors, in line with the overall Group Communications strategy
- To direct high-level stakeholder relations and sector-specific issue management for TMM's assets, especially in international markets
- Act as a counsel to the Platform CEO & Business Unit Heads on all reputational and marketing communications issues
- To support relationship management with the TMM platform's global influencer community

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Performance Management

- Ensure that the communications plans of all TMM assets support and protect MIC's reputation
- Ensure effective communications budget allocation within TMM's assets
- Oversee key performance indicators related to Asset communications

People Management

- Manage the Comms Assistant Manager by mentoring, setting performance objectives and carrying out performance appraisals

Support for TMM platform

- Provide support & advice to Platform CEO & Executive Directors, through the delivery of events, speeches, presentations, correspondence and announcements

Operations

- Coordinate with Assets to define critical communication success factors, identify potential challenges and issues, etc. in order to recommend communication solutions and communication programs, which attract and appeal to the target audiences

Stakeholder relations

- Ensure that TMM Asset Governmental & Community relations with the potential to impact on MIC's corporate reputation are effectively managed

Media Relations

- Oversee all UAE, international and market-specific media relations activities relating to TMM's assets with the potential to impact on MIC's reputation. Provide approval on all external announcements as required by TMM asset DOAs

Digital Communications

- Collaborate with Group Communications to plan, design and implement digital communication initiatives and services for TMM assets
- Advertising and marketing communications
- Provide tactical support and counsel as required across every aspect of the marketing mix to ensure the promotion and protection of TMM's assets

Internal Communications

- Support and deliver platform internal communications in including the arrangement of strategy sessions and team offsites

Compliance

- Ensure assets understand and abide by the Group Communications Policy
- Issue and crisis management
- Provide support and oversight on all issues and crises that could impact on TMM asset reputation or MIC reputation

Management Reporting

- Ensure that all functional reports and operational budgets are prepared timely and accurately
- Provide updates to all relevant contact points within Group Communications

Requirements

Qualifications

Knowledge, skills and experience

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Business or related field

Experience:

- Minimum of 10 years of experience working in communications. At least 2-3 years' experience working in international markets other than the UAE including media relations
- Experience of a large-scale organization with complex and multi-sectoral business operations and across various industries
- Experience of public affairs/G2G

Knowledge:

- Knowledge of TMM's main business sectors and the ability to develop sector-relevant communications plans and solutions: this is a key requirement for the role
- In-depth understanding of the strategic role of communications to effect positive transformational change and enable the achievement of business objectives.
- In-depth knowledge of stakeholder relations, international media relations and crisis management. Must have managed media relations previously across several international markets
- Knowledge of digital communications, event management and brand developments
- Strong ability to develop and execution communication plans and programs including budgeting & procurement process management
- In-depth knowledge of communication and influencing techniques and ability to deal with people across a wide range of functions and at all levels within and outside the organization
