Employment: Full Time

Our banking client based in Dubai is seeking a VP or an SVP of Corporate Banking (seniority will depend on experience). The selected candidate will bear responsibility for revenue targets looking after a mixed portfolio of large corporates, including the private sector in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates. This role will report directly into the Head of Corporate Banking.

This role is responsible for developing and managing a team of Unit Heads/ Team Leaders/ Senior Relationship Managers/ Relationship Managers/ ARMs/ Analysts in order to:
- Implement agreed business strategies in specific Business Segment
- Achieve annual operating business targets, as set within the guidelines and risk parameter by selling / cross-selling C & IB products and services
- Achieve quality business growth
- Develop individuals within the team, and the team as a whole.

Key Responsibilities:
- Contributes to the overall Corporate Banking strategy and business plans and further initiates, co-ordinates and implements the business plan for the assigned specific areas and monitors progress towards its achievement.
- Identifies and disseminates information and alerts line management to trends and risks and to opportunities to maximise earnings.
- Manages an existing portfolio of corporate customers in order to maximise revenue for the Bank, while controlling risk.
- Defining target market, utilizing all relevant marketing initiatives – account plans, pipeline, etc., and incorporating portfolio management strategies into the Divisions overall business plan.
- Identifies and markets new remunerative business to expand the Bank’s portfolio and enhance revenue generation at an acceptable risk.
- Monitors market and competitor activity to ensure that opportunities for new business are not overlooked and market share is not eroded.
- Drive development of a work culture that focuses on close customer rapport, superior service and operational excellence as key drivers for growth.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of an effective Corporate Banking marketing strategy in order to maintain and increase own market share, as well as to generate profitable business opportunities for Group’s offices/ other product partners like DICB, Transaction Banking, etc. Also facilitating and driving the culture of cross-selling and integration across the Divisions and its businesses to maximize revenues and profitability for the Bank.
- Maintains the business portfolio risk profile within agreed parameters at all times, including effective phasing out of the Exit Accounts and monitoring/ reporting of irregularities.
- Assesses by means of financial and other analyses/ Risk Assessment all credit proposals requiring to be signed as proposer, supporter or approver, to ensure that risks are fully analysed, addressed and mitigated.
- Initiating and maintaining critical relationships in the corporate sector and intervening to resolve problem relationships. Developing advisory relationships with COC&IB in client organizations and participating in client pitches for large banking deals
- Ensuring desired levels of credit quality in the business portfolio by reviewing key credit proposals, overseeing design of processes and procedures that assist in evaluating risk and contributing to continuous improvement of credit policies of the bank.
- Developing a strong audit culture by ensuring all Group Risk, Compliance, HR and Operational guidelines and procedures are adhered to so that audit requirements are met
- Manages, develops and appraises a team, monitoring performance against agreed objectives and business plans ensuring that business potential, procedural compliance and resources are met in full.
- Identifying training and development needs of team members and ensuring ongoing capability development. Also developing within his team expertise relating to various sectors according to changing industry and sectoral needs.
- Undertaking benchmarking against best global best practices in various aspects of C&IB and ensuring that they are adopted and institutionalized.

Requirements

- University Graduate. MBA will be a plus
- Minimum 12-15 years of Commercial Banking experience of which 7-8 yrs in Senior Relationship Management role.
- Should have minimum 5 years of Senior Management experience
- Highly numerate
- Sharia’a principles and guidelines awareness
- Ability to articulate market views and translate into revenue achievements
- Should have been exposed to managing mixed bag portfolio of Large Corporate, including Private Sector, Dubai, SHJ & NE region
- Good understanding of Cash Management and Transactional Banking
- Good Market Intelligence
- Awareness of Central Bank guidelines; Credit and Risk policies;
- Will bear responsibility for revenue targets
- Will report to Head of Corporate Banking
