Warehouse Assistant

Job description / Role

Bateel International are looking to hire an experienced Warehouse Assistant to work within a busy and dynamic work environment.

The candidate must perform an array of functions that might include accepting and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse. You will be required to lift stock, walk or stand for long periods of time and must wear protective gear and steel-toed shoes.

Please see specific responsibilities mentioned below:

Picking:
- Maintains clean and tidy working environment in the warehouse and on site.
- Ensures that the aisle, loading bay and yard is free from any obstacles.
- Keeps stocks free from dust and all boxes are kept closed from loose picking.
- Ensures picking is done as per FIFO/FEFO.
- Accurately pick up stocks as per pick list for loading delivery vehicles, transfers.
- Ensure pick list is handed over to Warehouse Supervisor once complete with proper corrections if any.
- Loads delivery trucks as per the invoice, load, and area allocated.

Delivery:
- Follow instructions given by the driver for smooth and quick delivery.
- Safe custody of stocks while delivering & while returning to Warehouse.
- Maintain a good relationship with customers/Café/Shops.
- Accurately move stocks from the vehicle to Customer/Café/Shops premises.
- Ensures stocks delivered are accurate, clean and in good condition.
- Collects bad, damaged and near expiry stocks from the customers as per instructions from superiors.
- Ensure safety of the stocks and inform the superiors immediately, in case of any break down of the vehicle in transit.

In-house Team:
- Loading / offloading work for receipts & dispatches.
- Arranges stocks received from all suppliers for storage.
- Ensures that FIFO stickers & shrink wrap are placed on every pallet before stacking in the racks.
- Assists the team for picking, loading, housekeeping etc. as per assigned schedule by supervisor.
- Maintains free access to the exits and ensures fire extinguisher s is free from obstacles. Ensures Safety of self and products and care & safely handling of products.
- Reports all incidents/accidents/unsafe conditions immediately to superiors for correction / elimination.

Requirements

- Basic English required
- High School graduate preferred
- Minimum 1 years' experience with a familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods,
- Good organizational and time management skills,
- Ability to lift heavy objects.
