Waste Management Inspector

Job description / Role

Provide oversight and inspection services on the quality and performance of FM Contractor in the organization and management of waste collection, disposal and re-cycling of waste. Also be responsible for inspection of the quality and performance of FM Contractor in waste treatment and street cleaning operations.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational
- Assist with the development, promotion and implementation of waste disposal schemes
- Ensure FM Contractor and Subcontractors in full compliance with current legislation in the transportation, handling and disposal of waste in consultation with the Manager FM Soft Services
- Assist in formulating and controlling the operating budget (capex and opex) for FM Contractor and his Subcontractors Waste Management Services
- Collate statistics and compile reports to assist in performance management of the FM Contractor
- Develop and contribute to the activities of FM Contractor in improving all aspects of the waste management process

Operational
- Oversee, manage and direct FM Contractor Waste Management Services
- Monitor the quality and performance of Waste Management Services by means of physical inspection and interfaces with the FM Contractor against agreed checklists and frequencies approved by the Manager FM Soft Services
- Supervise the FM Contractor’s collection and transportation of waste to ensure that it takes place efficiently without spillage and in accordance with agreed collection schedules
- Proactively respond and manage FM Contractor’s actions, service requests, problems and complaints from logged service requests with the MCC
- Oversee, manage and direct FM Contractor Waste Management Services
- Ensure all service requests from the MCC are attended and auctioned within the KPI response and resolution times and ensure feedback is provided to the MCC in accordance with set standards and procedures. Motivate and manage work around solutions to meet “day to day” Waste Management issues with the FM Contractor in consultation with the Manager FM Soft Services
- Investigate and following up on claims of any illegal dumping of waste and working with other waste regulation enforcement staff
- Assist in consultation with the company staff, Abu Dhabi Municipality, Retail, Food and Beverage outlets and associated waste generation and FM Contractors about waste management issues, identifying their requirements and providing appropriate recommendations

Requirements

- At least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Certifications relevant to discipline.
- An average of three years of relevant experience.
