We are looking for a Western Project Coordinator (Lean Contraction) to work for a contractor in Abu Dhabi

Job Role:
- Western Project Coordinator (Lean Contraction)
- The jobholder is stationed in Abu Dhabi and reports to the Department Head (MoA) and keeps the Manager Coordination and Technical Studies (Civil) informed of all project aspects.
- The jobholder uses his technical and managerial skills to mentor and supervise the site personnel as required.
- Maintains frequent contacts with all key personnel working in the Estimation, Engineering, Planning, Technical Studies and in particular the Project Management.
- Implements the LEAN Toolkit on projects and provides support during the execution of the project
- Coaches and Monitors the site LEAN Leaders, providing training, assistance and support where required.
- Drives a policy of Continual Improvement through the use of LEAN
- Reports to the Department Head (MoA) and keeps the Manager Coordination and Technical Studies (Civil) fully aware of the progress and any development during the construction phase of the project.

The jobholder has the following duties and responsibilities:

Tender Support
- Provides LEAN Technical Support for specific Tenders – advising on LEAN techniques that can be used on selective tenders.

Project Support
- Establishes a program for LEAN implementation for projects and drives this throughout the project lifecycle
- Identifies – with the Project Manager – potential LEAN champions and Leaders from the site staff
- Provides training in LEAN tools & techniques
- Provides continuity and coordination with the Project Manager and site team for LEAN matters.
- Provides LEAN awareness training for non-LEAN Leaders across the various site divisions (Controls, Planning, procurement, PMV, HSE, QA/QC etc.)
- Establishes the LEAN room on site
- Establishes LEAN KPI’s and monitors site performance
- Provides counsel and advice to Project Management on all practical aspects of the LEAN program based on either past experience or by consulting experts or agencies.
- Can initially be based 4 – 6 months on a particular site full time
- After the initial phase - visits site frequently to monitor performance, suggests corrective actions when necessary, advises on personnel training.
- Liaises with other units not directly related to the project to provide them with feedback for future projects, lessons learned and key success stories.
- Provides a regular update to Management on LEAN implementation

Requirements

- Degree in Civil/Building Engineering from a recognized university with minimum 8 years of experience including 5 years with a contractor based on site.
- Member of a recognized Engineering Institution and/or LEAN accreditation is an advantage.
- Experience in using LEAN tools and techniques in a site environment such as (but not limited to);
- Pull Planning, Value Stream Mapping, Process Mapping, Muda Walk, 5 S’s, Multi Moment Analysis/Hands on Tool Time, Spaghetti Diagrams
- Ability to teach others on LEAN tools and mentor site staff on its implementation
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Good communication skills and ability to persuade professionally, correctly, and tactfully
- Experience on major projects such as Infrastructure including Road, Rail, Marine; or Buildings or Heavy civils projects would be an advantage.
