Practice Leader, Offshore Structural Engineering - Houston

Our Client is a rapidly developing company providing scientific, engineering, safety and risk management consulting services to clients across a wide range of industry sectors. We are seeking committed, high quality scientists and engineers to join our office in Houston and share in our success.

Our Client has an opportunity for a senior individual to assume the role of Offshore Practice Leader within our structural engineering team. Much of the work performed by this team is in support of safety studies or engineering development and covers the full spectrum of project phases, from concept development to detailed design. The position is ideal for an individual who is experienced in all aspects of offshore engineering, including fixed and floating offshore structures, topsides and subsea structures.

The successful applicant will be involved in the structural integrity management (as well as new design) of jacket and topside structures and floating/subsea systems, under in-place and extreme loads. The role will involve business development, personnel management and development, together with leading and executing studies on behalf of Operators and EPC’s. Knowledge of fire and explosion assessment of topsides structures would also be attractive.

This is an opportunity for a dynamic and experienced individual to assume a senior management role with the objective of growing our structural practice in Houston.

Requirements

Preferred candidates will have an advanced-level degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering or science discipline, a background in offshore structures and a minimum of 15 years of applicable oil and gas industry experience. Our professionals are drawn from a variety of backgrounds, including consulting, design, operations, academia, research, vendors, and regulatory agencies. A key aspect of this role will be the development of strong client relationships that can be utilized to provide a continuous work stream for the structural team.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess exceptional leadership, business development, and technical and writing skills, have a commitment to technical excellence and quality and be capable of leveraging their existing professional network to showcase the Client’s advanced engineering capability and ultimately deliver a continuous stream of challenging projects to the Firm.

This is a senior position within the Houston operations and we are seeking an individual who has the attributes necessary to grow and sustain our offshore structural engineering practice in Houston.
