Course Overview

Effective coaching is needed to manage the performance of employees. Most of the time, managers respond to under performers in terms of salary raises, job transfers and dismissals where as coaching can help to improve performance at lower cost. In some situation, managers take over the responsibility to fulfill a particular task when there is a problem. It is a natural reaction to handle the problems quickly but it creates over-reliance on managers and badly affects both the performance of employee and managers.

Coaching is a technique to improve employee skills, competencies and confidence that ultimately generates high quality work and promotes staff independence. Managers are responsible to give necessary training to the new employees in order to help them in effectively doing work tasks. In most of the cases, managers provide inadequate training to the employees due to the lack of skills and competencies that affects the performance of employees.
