Introduction to Programmable logic Controllers

An introductory course designed to focus on the fundamentals of Simatic S7 for individuals who have responsibility for maintaining, trouble shooting and developing in-house Siemens Simatic Step 7 applications. At the end of the course, students will be able to Design and Write basic Step 7 programs and understand their structure and also troubleshoot hardware and software, Siemens Simatic S7 PLC systems. No prior use or knowledge of Step 7 is necessary, but the Siemens Simatic assumes that students are able to operate a keyboard and have PC computer skills.

• Users and maintenance personnel of Siemens S7 programmable controllers
• Operations, production and maintenence managers, engineers, technicians or operations personnel who require a good basic understanding of PLCs and SCADA and who may engage with others to carry out their work.

• Gain a good clear understanding and working knowledge of the widespread use of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) & SCADA Systems
• Understand how sensors and field devices are connected
• Understand the capabilities and wide application of Industrial Colour Graphics / SCADA Systems
