Course Overview

If you've been going from job to job, not knowing exactly what to do, maybe even being let go because of your poor work habits, this course is for you!

We begin this course with how to choose a job that matches your skills and your personality. There are three types of skills that the United States Department of Labor classifies all work:

  • jobs that deal with data
  • jobs that deal with things
  • jobs that deal with people

Which type of skill set are you most comfortable with? Which one do you enjoy doing the most?

Then we look at the type of job that fits your personality needs. For example, do you like to compete or cooperate? Do you like a fast-paced job or a laid back one?

Next we look at how to interview effectively for a job. I know this can be difficult, especially if you're nervous and worried about whether you'll get the job. I give you a number of tips on how to breeze through an interview so you'll look good to a prospective employer.

The second section looks at how to do your job well - how to manage your workday, how to converse on the phone effectively, what to do if you're overwhelmed at your job, and how to take care of yourself too. Remember, if you don't take care of yourself, you not much good to your employer.

Are you a perfectionist? Do you get upset at yourself if you make even the tiniest mistake? Do you look your work over many times to make sure it's absolutely perfect (taking longer than your co-workers would)? Do you not trust your co-workers with any work and so you delegate nothing and then get swamped with too much work and become exhausted because you can't go fast enough? If so, you're a perfectionist, and the next session gives you all the tips you need to be a high achiever instead.

The last section details how to leave a job gracefully. You probably won't be at the same job all your life, so knowing how to leave it gracefully, not burning bridges, will help you in case you need a reference for a future job.

With each section, you will receive at least one exercise to complete in order to incorporate what you've learned into your own life. I suggest that you write the exercises in a notebook to help you work through the principles I'm teaching so you can see where you are and how to apply them to your life and daily interactions with others.

All my courses contain guided visualizations and songs throughout. They are downloadable, so you will always have them to enjoy and grow with. My courses are intended to take you on a personal journey to understanding yourself and guiding you on a dynamic path of self-discovery to greater self-esteem and self-confidence. I hope you join me!
