Finance Manager

Job description / Role
Typical duties included are, but not limited to:
- Ensure proper account reconciliation with vendors, suppliers and stations to reflect accurate figures in the financial system.
- Develop, implement and comply with effective mechanism for proper checking and approval of stations, suppliers and vendors invoices.
- Prepare sub ledger and general ledger accounts to ensure valid data in the financial system
- Prepare journal entries into Aramex financial software for payments made to suppliers and invoices paid by customers
- Use Sage accounting software
- Prepare vouchers for all company transactions in light of company financial policies and procedures.
- Review the Kabul office journal and make sure that all transactions are posted correctly
- Review the sub office vouchers with their cash journals and make sure that the amounts, coding and exchange rates are correctly recorded. Report any weaknesses to the management.
- Coordinate transfer of cash to the sub offices.
- Prepare bank and cash reconciliations for the Kabul office
- Supervise finance assistants plus cashiers if any.
- Provide day-to-day inputs and support to colleagues on finance matters.
- Prepare mid-term and yearly performance evaluation of the finance staff
- Prepare training schedule and plan of action for staff capacity building in light the yearly performance evaluation of the finance plan.
- Provide day to day training to the finance staff and actively participate in preparation of financial workshops
- Provide inputs and suggestions to the management about financial issues.
- Maintain confidentiality of all accounting records in compliance with finance best practices and procedures
- Comply with local regulations and accounting standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting
- English Proficiency
- MS Office Applications (Work, Excel, Power Point & Outlook)
- Knowledge of Accounting Software (preferably Sage)
