General Manager - Manufacturing - Angola

Our client is a highly reputable privately owned African group of companies. The group has various business located in various locations in Africa. One of their BUs is delegated FMCG manufacturing business. The manufacturing BU has number of productions unit that produce juices, liquid soap, vinegar, snacks etc.

The group is seeking to recruit a top-notch professional who can make a difference and lead the manufacturing business unit to its next level as well as lead the future expansion. This role is based in Luanda, Angola.

Reporting to the CEO, the job holder will be P&L accountable and should have the ability to set-up strategic objectives and accordingly produce short & long-term business plan in-line with the group overall business objectives & profitability.

Working in very dynamic business environment that enjoy rapid market changes & development as well as high competitiveness rate is the major challenge of this role. Accordingly, the job holder should possess hand-on working experience gained from being with FMCG manufacturing units.

Requirements

• A proven business professional who has worked in similar environment / market at similar seniority
• A highly qualified manufacturing professional who will be leading the all functions of the operation for all factories such as; are production, supply-chain & logistics, QA/QC, Safety, finance and personnel.
• A proven professional who has the ability to lead multi-operations / multi-manufacturing business unit
• A professional who has the ability to lead a business combined of multi-cultural people.
• A professional who has the ability to smoothly produce long & short-term business plan with sharp eye on the bottom-line of the business
• A professional who has the ability to implement effectively the business plan and act swiftly for any sudden changes in the business environment as it arises by introducing the required corrections.
• A professional who has the leadership and the ability to consolidate the businesses’ outcome and produce a global picture of the entire manufacturing unit.
• A professional who will ensure using the given resources effectively with an objective to maximize profit and to ensure long-term run of all BUs
• Also, the incumbent should have the ability to study in-depth any new manufacturing investment and JV the group may face in the future and participate in the decision-making process on the same.
• The incumbent should have the ability to understand the country business practice
• The incumbent should possess the right educational qualifications gained from reputable universities / business school
• The incumbent should demonstrate that he already worked in similar environment
• The incumbent should possess 15 years of work experience out of which 5 years at similar seniority.
