QC & QA Manager - Soft Drink Manufacturing

Job description / Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced QC & QA Manager to oversee quality control and quality assurance processes in our soft drink manufacturing facility in Angola. This pivotal role will ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety, while also complying with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in quality management within the food and beverage sector, and will be responsible for developing and implementing quality assurance policies, conducting audits, and leading a team of quality control personnel. Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Oversee the quality control process throughout the manufacturing operation, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of production processes, equipment, and facilities to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead and mentor a team of quality control inspectors and technicians, providing training and guidance to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement, presenting findings to senior management.
- Participate in the development and review of product specifications, ensuring that they meet quality and safety standards.
- Coordinate and lead external audits and inspections by regulatory bodies and certification agencies.
- Implement and maintain a quality management system (QMS) that aligns with industry best practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements in quality assurance and control.

- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control and assurance within the food and beverage industry, preferably in soft drink manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, food safety regulations, and industry standards such as ISO 9001 and HACCP.
- Proven experience in leading quality teams and managing quality improvement projects.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Portuguese is an advantage.
