Sales Manager - FMCG - Angola

Our client, a leading reputable African diversified group, is seeking to recruit a top-notch sales & manager for one of their FMCG / Trading business units in Luanda, Angola. He should be able to demonstrate hands-on experience in sales function gained from being working for FMCG / Trading / Distribution food industry.

Reporting to the sales director of the BU, the incumbent is responsible for the entire sales’ operation and activities of the business unit at operational (day-to-day) as well as at strategic level in the entire market-place which is Angola. In line with the overall business plan, the job holder will be fully accountable for developing and executing short as well as long term Sales Plan that reinforce the company’s presence within the target market as well as the firm bottom-line. Needless to state, that the plan should be comprehensive, applicable, creative, innovative and operational in a way that ensures long term profitability as well as business image and objectives. Accordingly, having a thorough understanding of the FMCG / food distribution business as well as distribution channels are a must for this role.

In addition, the incumbent needs to realize the sales’ pre-set target on continuous basis, monthly, quarterly and yearly. Also, he needs to ensure the target of his employees,

Requirements

• The ideal candidate is a sales professional who possesses a good number of years working for FMCG / food distribution business out of which five years should be in a similar capacity.
• In addition, the job-holder should demonstrate a remarkable achievements and work experience gained from being with a well-recognized FMGC firm.
• In depth understanding about distribution / trading life cycle is inevitable
• Hands-on experience in dealing with whole-sellers, retailers and institutions are a must
• Ability to meet targets, KPIs and overall firm business-plan is a critical success factor for this role
• Possess in-depth understanding related a complete distribution-channels such as storages, fleet management, people management, key-account management , merchandizing, shelves’ management and delivery channels etc.
• A critical attribute in the selection process will be a proven leadership qualities, communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to lead a sizable team of sales people is a must
• Working experience in Angolan market is a certain plus.
• Working experience in African market is a certain plus.
