Course content

This course is comprised of 24 credit points, including:

  • 11 core units
  • 1 major sequence of study in either forensic chemistry or forensic biology
  • 3 zero-credit-point units (laboratory and fieldwork safety, work placements and academic integrity).

You will learn how to apply forensic analysis, including chemical, biological and physical techniques, while also learning about the Australian legal system. You will cover forensic chemistry and toxicology, arson and explosives investigations, analysis of illicit drugs, and also undertake studies in criminology. You will also gain practical experience by spending time in our unique crime scene training facility, which simulates real-world situations faced by forensics professionals.
