CLIENT

Linum Consult’s client is a major international company working within the energy sector. They are currently in the process of expanding and are seeking a General Manager to be based in their office in Melbourne.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinating with the EPC contractor to track their work performance, ensuring they fulfil their contractual obligations, and the timely commissioning of the project
• Ensuring the company is fully compliant and in line with their contractual obligations
• Monitoring the project schedule and costs, updating and reporting as the project development proceeds
• Identifying any construction progress obstructions or risks and providing a cost-effective solution to the shareholders
• Maintaining the project’s budget within established parameters
• Ensuring all HSE requirements are met according to regulatory and contractual compliances
• Monitoring and inspecting the construction performance to ensure quality, schedule, and budget contractual requirements are met
• Reviewing and managing technical submittals, to ensure conformance with the design
• Developing processes and procedures for wind farm operations, including the transition from construction to commercial operation
• Suggesting and implementing a cost-effective asset management strategy in line with the O&M contract
• Managing key stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, government, and landowners, to ensure compliance
• Ensuring effective reporting to the board, members, and affected stakeholders

Requirements

PROFILE

• Degree qualification in Engineering with either a Management/Business degree or experience
• At least 15 years’ experience, with 5 years in a construction and operations managerial role within the renewable energy industry in Australia
• Strong background in construction and O&M, with direct experience of managing a wind project construction project, or turbine erection/installation
• Demonstrable understanding of project management processes, strategies, and methods
• Excellent technical understanding of construction contracts and the ability to manage key internal and external stakeholders
• Familiar with the relevant Australian energy legislation and regulations
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead and develop a team of engineers
• The right to live and work in Australia
