Senior Consultant - Rail Operations & Safety - Melbourne

- Manage client relationships and external/internal service providers
- Assist the Rail Commercial team in identifying and setting business targets. This may include attending regular meetings as required to identify emerging business opportunities and tenders, and to contribute to the team or broader CH2M response to ensure a proactive approach is taken for all opportunities
- Contribute to or manage CH2M’s capability to bid on potential tenders and to deliver proposal requirements in line with CH2M’s ‘better bidding process’
- Undertake project roles and tasks as appropriate to experience and as agreed with the management of the Practice Area responsible for the project.
- Act as a Project Manager as required in compliance with business systems and principles.
- As required, manage the progress of assigned projects within the team and ensure that all reports and correspondence clearly satisfy the client’s stated requirements, any potential risks are managed and project deliverables are issued on time and in accordance with the project brief
- Provide an active role in supporting the leadership of the Rail Commercial team in delivering CH2M’s vision and values
- Identify training needs to ensure current and future business needs are matched and where appropriate, deliver training to other rail commercial staff

Requirements

- 10 Years applicable practical experience in railway operations
- Good understanding of rail timetabling and performance issues
- Knowledge of the issues around rail simulation principles and experience with simulation packages – eg. RailSys
- A sound appreciation of how customer service impacts on service delivery in the consulting environment
- An ability to quickly understand client problems and to identify approaches to solving them
- Proven project management skills and a proven track record in successful project delivery
- A good understanding of the Australian rail market and the opportunities it may present
- Experience in managing teams.
- Ability to work at a high theoretical level and detailed analytical level depending on needs of project
