Employment: Full Time

Accountant – Expenditures and Payables

• Pays vendors by scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
• Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms.
• Process check requests.
• Respond to all vendor inquiries.
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
• Interface and work closely with the all the cost centers and ensure all the budgetary and actual transactions are booked and maintained in the system.
• Prepare the costing for the inward inventories and close the cycle of booking for the inventory management.
• Prepare and process all the necessary banking documents for the payments to the various creditors including the issuance of the demand cheques, letter of credits, bank guarantees, and all other wire fund transfers.
• Assist with other projects as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business-related field
• Advanced skills in Excel
• Three to five years accounting experience.
• Previous retail experience.
• Knowledge of economic and cash management principles, accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
• Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
• Knowledge of general computer skills including Microsoft Office products mainly Excel, Word and Outlook, and common software programs.
